We have been unbelievably blessed by all the friends and family who have come to our rescue with prayer, support, and help. Uncle Alan, Aunt April, and our sweet Godson Sam hopped on an airplane and jumped across the big pond, just to help us out and spend time with Cooper and Lilly.
They brought some gifts with them for me, Lilly, and Cooper. One of them being a Kindle so that I can download English books anytime I want. I am so in love with this new device!
To think that they would use their vacation time and money to come all the way to Germany is more than we deserve. They were a great help around the house, added some extra helping hands with Cooper and Lilly, and just provided a great distraction to have friendly faces around. Alan slaved in the hot sun for a few days and got our yard in tip top shape. Alan also tried a few of his "private therapy sessions" with Cooper. April kept busy with laundry and made us the most delicious fried egg sandwiches. And Sam, well Sam did what he does best, he crawled around looking adorable and putting smiles on all our faces.
We were mostly stuck at home caring for Lilly, but I was getting a little more confident by this point and so we planned a few outings. We had one trip to the pool and also went to a wild park.

The biggest outing was a day of hiking in the Alps. We chose a spot that was kid friendly and had a great time. We couldn't have managed that without the help of Alan and April.
Alan spontaneously decided that he wanted to do a triathlon in a nearby town. Peter and I would have totally done it as well, but we didn't want Alan to feel threatened by our fierce competition. Ha!
I am sure that our chaos got pretty irritating after 2 weeks, but we are so thankful that they put up with us for that long and even let Peter and I go out to dinner one night without kids. It was such a treat.
And while they were here, we celebrated a momentous occasion. Sam celebrated turned 1 year old! April baked a delicious cake and we sang to the birthday boy.

Amy, we were so happy to visit you and Peter and Cooper and Lilly! We continue to pray that Peter finds a job on this side of the big pond, Lilly's surgery and health, for Cooper's therapy, and for you, too. We miss you so much!
